Costa Teguise is a relatively new resort on Lanzarote, its about a 15 minute transfer from the airport, making it a popular spot for Lanzarote holidays. As a purpose built resort, Costa Teguise offers plenty of hotels, restaurants, bars and shops whilst there are some fine sandy Costa Teguise beaches to enjoy the Lanzarote weather. Watersports are a popular activity at Costa Teguise, both with locals and visitors so if you enjoy watersports, then you won't be short of things to do in Lanzarote Costa Teguise. The resort does tend to be quieter than Puerto Del Carmen but although Puerto Del Carmen is the best place for nightlife on Lanzarote, you will find bars here where you will be able to enjoy an evening drink. Costa Teguise is also relatively close to the capital, Arrecife, which is worth visiting as well as Teguise, with its large market and all the history you would expect of the islands old capital, so you will be able view plenty of places to see on Lanzarote from this resort whilst you will be able to visit the other Lanzarote attractions around the island with ease.

Of course you will want to enjoy the Lanzarote weather down on the beaches and there are some nice Costa Teguise beaches to visit, here are what we think are the best beaches at Costa Teguise. The best beaches in Lanzarote are dotted around the island but remember, because the island is relatively small, they are all no more than a day trip away.

Playa Cucharas Beach. This Costa Teguise beach is a beautiful unspoilt sandy beach with all the facilities. Bars line the promenade meaning you can enjoy a cocktail while enjoying a beautiful view. Whether you wish to have a go at watersports or just enjoy the sun, this is a lovely Lanzarote beach to visit.

Playa Bastian beach is another beach at Costa Teguise. A large beach, there are plenty of facilities here and due to its size, you will likely find a private spot to enjoy the hot Lanzarote weather

Smaller Beaches at Costa Teguise
If you walk along the coast, you will find some smaller Costa Teguise beaches, they may not have all the facilities as the more popular ones do (or any at all) but with their unspoilt charm, they are well worth a visit.

Things to do in Lanzarote Costa Teguise

With the hot Lanzarote weather, you will be probably be happy enough enjoying the sandy beaches at Costa Teguise or sipping drinks by the pool but don't forget, there are plenty more things to do in Costa Teguise as well which includes a waterpark and golf course. Visit one of the most historic places to see on Lanzarote - the old capital Teguise
The old capital at Teguise is a short distance away from Costa Teguise and features the largest market in Lanzarote. Having been the capital of the island for many centuries, it has historic buildings to see. Santa Barbara castle is one of the best Lanzarote attractions to visit from Costa Teguise, found in Teguise, it was built to protect the island from raiding pirates that would have ravaged the island centuries ago, its now a pirate museum and is definately worth a visit.

Another day trip from Costa Teguise could be a visit to Arrecife. Arrecife has a beach, shops and a lagoon worth visiting with plenty of shopping opportunities and bars and restaurants to enjoy a meal or drink. It can be tempting to just enjoy the weather on the many Lanzarote beaches but if you really want to get the full experience, visits to the Lanzarote resorts and towns are well recommended.

One of the popular Costa Teguise attractions is its popularity with watersports. This resort is popular with a number of watersports including windsurfing and you can hire equipment on the Costa Teguise beaches.

Visiting other Lanzarote attractions from Costa Teguise
Lanzarote is a small island and there are a number of ways to visit the other Lanzarote attractions including bus, taxi, hiring a vehicle or as part of one of the official Lanzarote excursions. Puerto Del Carmen is the other side of Arrecife, along the coast and a day trip here will put you in the heart of Lanzarotes holiday atmosphere. Playa Blanca down to the south of the island offers the opportunity boat trips to Fuertoventura whilst there are other Lanzarote excursions around the island including the fantastic Timanfaya national park. Created by volcanic eruptions, this is a must visit as one of the best places to see on Lanzarote.
